LisleTech utilizes evolved and proven methodologies in our engineering
discipline.
The LisleTech approach developed from the scientific backgrounds of its
four founding partners. The team's scientific research background began in
the corporate labs of Bell Labs and Gould in the mid 80's. At Gould, the
team assumed R&D responsibilities as Program managers for advanced
technology projects in Factory Automation, Artificial Intelligence,
Distributed Computing and Software Engineering.
The Department of Defense funded the team's work in Electronic Design
Automation and wanted to see it continued after Nipon Mining acquired
Gould. With the DoD's financial support, the team was able to strike an
agreement with Gould and become one of the only teams to successfully
launch a company based on IP assets originally developed within the R&D
center.
They formed a company (called Vista Technologies) around the research
concept. It was created in 1986 to market high-end CASE and CAE products.
Vista’s VHDL and Verilog based Electronic Design Automation (EDA) products
allowed electrical engineers to specify the behavior of circuitry
graphically or through tables and would generate the required VHDL or
Verilog text.
Over 5,000 copies of Vista products were licensed worldwide and its
customers included Motorola, Intel, Ford Microelectronics, Northern
telecom, and Bay Networks. Vista utilized OEM distributors such as
Cadence, Valid Logic, Zycad, Marubeni Hytech and Leda as well as
partnerships with Synopsis and Mentor Graphics to create a highly
profitable venture.
After Vista was sold, the team's next start-up was Peritus Software
Services. The systems developed by Peritus were based on mathematical
theories proposed by Professor Misra at the University of Texas at Austin,
and utilized complex control flow and data flow techniques to analyze
millions of lines of legacy software at a time. Peritus was venture funded
by Matrix Partners and Greylock, went IPO in 1997, and created a $500
million market capitalization. The company had grown over 600% in a 2-year
period and at that time; it was one of the most oversubscribed IPOs in
NASDAQ history.
Following Peritus, the team became active in the angel investment and
venture capital community. The current venture, Lisle Technology Partners,
was formed in November 1999. The investors come from some of the most
respectable and high-profile companies in Silicon Valley. Over the years,
LisleTech's partners have developed technology, created alliances, and
managed global projects for a variety of established and emerging
companies.
