Web Services Quick Start

This consulting service helps Customers who want to start a web services project, but have not yet decided upon the technology or approach. Our Web Services Quick Start methodology incorporates the following services:

  • Review the problem domain. This includes determining the expectation of the result, reviewing the business model or the IT organizational structure and identifying web services implementation opportunities.

  • Review the legacy technology. If this is not a completely new application, examine the technology that will require integration.

  • Review infrastructure. This task reviews the network and application infrastructure to determine if there are any issues that might affect throughput, response time, or quality of service.

  • Develop an implementation plan. This includes the technical approach, estimates of team size and duration, a rough schedule, and a review of quality of service issues. Issues of security, auditing and quality of service would be addressed.

  • Develop a review process. This task results in an analysis to be performed once the web service is installed. The purpose of this would be to determine the degree of success of the application of web service technology, possible including a Return On Investment analysis.

    Web Services Implementation

    This consulting service is designed for Customers that have decided upon an approach to implementing a web service, but who desire to outsource the project. We use our Web Services Implementation methodology to enable a highly accelerated and efficient delivery. Here is a list of typical tasks to be performed:

  • Review proposed approach. This task would review the customer's proposed approach. Tradeoffs and possible alternative approaches would be identified.

  • Develop an implementation plan. This includes the technical approach, estimates of team size and duration, a rough schedule, and a review of quality of service issues. Issues of security, auditing and quality of service would be addressed.

  • Software implementation. This would include installation of required software and development of custom software.

  • Documentation development. This task would develop the necessary documentation for support and maintenance.

  • Installation. This task would involve on-site installation of third party and custom software.
